PCB Tooling Fabrication Process
From initial design analysis to final quality validation, our 8-step process ensures precision and reliability in every mold we manufacture.
Technical Analysis & Design (CAM/CAD)
Our engineering team begins by reviewing your Gerber files and specifications. We use advanced CAD/CAM software to optimize the mold design, ensuring high precision and compatibility with your production requirements.
Material Selection & Preparation
We select premium-grade tool steel or specialized alloys based on the mold's intended lifespan and complexity. The raw material is then precision-cut to the required dimensions, ensuring a solid foundation for the fabrication process.
Precision CNC Machining
Using high-speed CNC centers, we perform the primary shaping of the mold base and components. This step ensures that all critical dimensions meet the tight tolerances required for modern high-density PCB production.
EDM & Wire Cutting
For intricate shapes, sharp corners, and high-precision cavities that standard milling cannot reach, we utilize Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) and high-speed wire cutting to achieve micron-level accuracy.
Heat Treatment & Surface Hardening
To ensure durability and wear resistance, the mold components undergo a professional heat treatment process. This stabilizes the material and reaches the optimal HRC hardness required for high-volume stamping or punching.
Fine Grinding & Polishing
Our technicians perform precision surface grinding to ensure absolute flatness. Critical contact areas are polished to a mirror finish to prevent burrs and ensure clean separation during the PCB manufacturing process.
Final Assembly & Inspection
The mold is meticulously assembled and undergoes a rigorous QC check. We utilize CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) and optical projectors to verify that every detail aligns perfectly with the original design.
Trial Run & Quality Validation
Before shipping, we conduct a "T1" trial run. We produce sample parts to verify the stamping quality, hole registration, and edge cleanliness, ensuring the tool is production-ready upon arrival at your facility.
